Happy Birthday, Ivy!

It wouldn't be a party without Parliament, "Get up on the down stroke, Ivy-body get up!"--No doubt Ivy's favorite song.

Coming home from the store, Ike snapped a pic of the loaner X and my 4 bags of groceries, including bottled buttermilk, cooking oil, and a gallon of apple juice--the heaviest stuff made super easy on this amazing rig. Oh, and don't forget the pretty birthday flowers!

We’re getting geared up for some celebrating this weekend as Ivy Wren turns the big 4!!!  Can hardly believe it.  It looks to be a grand weekend, and we’re taking it $$-lite as well as car-lite.

I am baking a cake from the Feeding the Whole Family cookbook and needed some extra provisions.   The finest ingredients purchased at UKROPS, and carried home on my borrowed Xtracycle. (Rob brought it over yesterday, and I should have snapped a picture of how he brought it.  He has installed a bike tow bar in the rear, and rode the X and towed his regular ride.  AMAZING!– made me think that when we make things too easy, we lose touch with our own creativity.)

Friends are dropping off surprise pets (guinea pig & hamster) as they are heading out of town for a year, and we are pet-sitting or possibly forever-petting our new friends.  Happy to help out and this will probably be the BIG! birthday “gift”.  We are shooting for experiences over things, and the girls are animal crazy.  Trading/bartering is definitely a nice non-spendy way of celebrating a tot’s B-day.

We are anxiously anticipating the Hula Hoop Birthday Bash at the Water Heater this afternoon, then we’re carpooling off to a pool party in the county at Nana’s.

Happy Father’s Day to all the dads, and happy riding too–looks to be a pretty nice weekend. 🙂
