I am a joyful 40 (!)-year-old mother of 2 girls, a happy wife, an English teacher, and a bicycle lover.  With the support of my terrific husband, family, and friends, I am embarking on a 6-month journey to live well using alternative means of transportation in our small town of Roanoke, Va.  My girls are going along for the ride!  Join me!

Please do! Good to hear from you and I hope to come down that way to do some riding. It’s so beautiful there. Enjoy, and keep in touch!

  3. I just found you (and your link to my blog, technoearthmama.com)! Hurrah! I’m so glad to see what you’re doing, and that you’re documenting it. When I started out as a bike commuter with kids, it was really hard to find information about how other people were doing it. I’m glad that you and others are sharing your journey now!

  4. Hello! I found your blog when I googled “kids” and “roanoke”. My family and I are on our way east and will be passing throuth Roanoke. We will have about 3 hours to hang out and I would love to get your thoughts on what we can do that we be fun for the kids and that would help them burn off steam.
